My Favorite Battle Rifle

For me there is simply no other choice for my favorite battle rifle.  L1A1 chambered in .308 with a 20 round detachable magazine.  When it comes to covering long distances the .308 cartridge from a properly maintained L1A1 is the way to go.

  1. That’s some rifle! I wouldn’t argue with one like that for sure but besides it’s visual appeal – it’s pleasing to the wolfie eyeball…but maybe I’m just a little bit strange! lol … it sounds like one wicked weapon that in the right hands would be a great survival asset 🙂

Of all the rifles I take to the range my L1A1 is my favorite to use followed in order by my SKS with modified stock, Izmash Saiga, then my AR-15 which make up my top 4 🙂

May have to look at one of those over the AR-15. I also want an SKS, but funds are short ATM.

I can’t say enough good things about the L1A1 chambered for .308. Mine is scoped to cover longer distances. SKS rifles are awesome as well. I own an SKS Yugo. I replaced the wood stock with a synthetic monte carlo stock, removed the bayonet and replaced with a bipod and scoped it. If you scope the SKS be aware that it is a top eject, not a side eject rifle so you also have to install a sheet metal scope protector between the bottom of the scope and top of the ejection port. Slip on models go right over the sliding rear sight which holds it in place.
