Personal defense is something that no one in today’s society should take for granted.  When it comes to the safety of yourself and your family; keep the following in mind.

  • If you plan on owning a gun make sure you get the proper training in order to be able to use it effectively.  Owning a gun does not make you an instant expert on using it.  Only proper practice and training will get you to become a proficient/expert with your weapon.
  • Choose the right weapon for the right situation.  As the saying goes a weapon should be mission specific.  A primary handgun, primary shotgun and primary rifle should be selected for defensive use purposes.
  • Do not cut corners on support related gear.  Purchase what you need in sufficient quantites and be familiar with the proper use of each piece of gear.
  • Your cell phone is fully charged right?  Your vehicles gas tank is full right?  If not get in the habit of keeping your cell phone fully charged and your gas tank full at all times.
  • Train yourself mentally through visualization on how you would handle specific, danger situations.  Repetative mental planning and visualization helps you to train how to react if your life or your family’s lives are in danger.
  • Learn survival skills well before you need them.  Waiting until disaster strikes is not the time to begin to learn them.
  • Have a personal defense plan and follow the plan.  Do not let fear, anxiety or defeatism jeapordize your ability to survive.
  • A proper mindset is your number one survival resource.
  • Trust your instincts; don’t dismiss them.  If a situation feels wrong then it is wrong.
