In order to survive; one has to be prepared.  You must prepare as much as possible for things which could happen and have a plan for dealing with these scenarios when they do.  Keep a watchful eye on those in power with the realization that they don’t always have your best interests in mind.  Protecting your family and yourself if martial law occurs or when social chaos is present is of the utmost importance.

Shelter, food, water and security are the four main areas that you need to be aware of in the event of a local, regional or national crisis.  Make sure you have sufficient supplies in case leaving your home is unsafe or restricted based on circumstances.  Do you have enough food and water if transportation and distribution networks are suspended?  Can you defend yourself, your family and your home if looters and marauders are on the loose looking for supplies and victims?  Criminals are always the first to try and take advantage of any situation where law and order has broken down.  Prepare yourself accordingly and stay safe.

You got that right about those in power not having our best interests at heart. Obama & Hill’s pathetic reaction to the attack on our Embassies is disgraceful and DANGEROUS!

This is one of the reasons I could never be elected President of the United States. First thing I’d do is turn the military loose on the terrorist nations who have attacked our embassies no holds barred and between ground troops and planes, tanks and ships I’d have all the enemy countries defeated in less than a week. I would order our troops to fight to win, not to fight politically correctly. If we turned our troops loose as they should be turned loose, with our technology and troops the whole area would be pacified/defeated in a week.
