Political Correctness is so Wrong Revisited

Political correctness; the mere questioning of it drives some people, at social gatherings, to flee the room as quickly as possible.  Political correctness……..it is just so wrong in so many ways.  Look, if you have something to say just say it, don’t sugar coat it because someones feelings might get a little ruffled.  We need to stop pandering to those who can’t bear to hear the truth.

It’s ridiculous to think we need to protect everyone’s sensitive ears from every little word that is uttered.  If you’re offended by free speech then you need to grow a backbone and toughen up.  I for one will say what I want to say and if you don’t like it then don’t listen.  I hope others will do the same.  We are turning into a nation of wimps who have no character.  Speak your mind and let the chips fall where they may.

A criminal is a criminal, they are not behaviorally challenged.  Failure is failure, it is not deferred success.  An illegal alien is an illegal alien, they are not undocumented workers.  Insane people are insane, they are not selectively perceptive.  A junkie is a junkie, they are not a substance abuse victim.  A bum is a bum, they are not a displaced homeowner.

As for me political correctness is nothing more than a failed attempt to eliminate stigma from certain social and political scenarios.  Maybe if more social stigma was applied instead of less, than people would stop behaving in anti social, immoral ways.  Remember personal responsibility is personal responsibility regardless of what the politically correct crowd would have you think.

Right on Jackson! I’ve been saying the same thing for years. There are losers in the world and calling them something else only drags out the misery for everyone concerned . . . and begets more losers! . . . . Oh and BTW, way past time to start PROFILING. It works and saves time, lives and resources.

Whew, I feel better already, Can’t wait for that landslide victory on Nov 6th because Roger and I are not the only 2 thinking people left in the world -count on it.

    Aloha, Mikie

Glad I could make your day 🙂 I can’t wait to get out there and vote on Tuesday. People profile everyday as part of situational awareness. Let’s face it, if you are waiting for an elevator and two arrive at the same time are you going to go in the one with six little old ladies for passengers or the one with six gang bangers wearing gang colors. Of course everyone will get in the elevator with the old ladies…………congratulations, you’ve just profiled and it probably saved your life.

Well put. The best way to combat the p.c. Crowd is to not participate in such foolishness.

  3. By and large I agree with your stance on PC. But I do think that perhaps it may not be quite as black and white as you seem to see it. But then again perhaps that’s the Mitt Romney Effect 😉

I think people have forgotten the distinct difference between not being hurtful on purpose, and describing the reality of the situation.

For instance, I am short. That’s a fact. If hearing that hurts my feelings, that’s my problem.

If someone chooses to mock my shortness, that’s one thing (and just stating it as a fact is not mocking). But for me to expect everyone else to change their entire vocabulary to not hurt my feelings because of my dislike of reality is ludicrous!

there is almost no personal responsibility…just look at all those law suits…
