With the myriad of handgun choices available today; here are my reasons for preferring the Smith & Wesson M&P 45 to all others.
- The weapon is accurate, well balanced and I have yet to experience a malfunction during many sessions of range time use.
- The weapon is comfortable to grip and reasonably lightweight as the frame is made from a Zytel polymer with Stainless Steel structural components.
- Barrel and slide are made of Stainless Steel with a Black Melonite coating.
- Length is 7 3/4″ and when empty weighs 1 pound 13.3 ounces.
- Magazine capacity is 10 + 1 rounds of 45 ACP ammo.
- Weapon comes with a lifetime service policy.
- Weapon is designed for the needs of military, law enforcement and civilians.
- Manual safety is easy to reach and sights are easy to use for quick target acquisition.
- It is similar in form and function to my other; smaller concealed carry weapon the Smith & Wesson M&P 9C which is functionally the same as the M&P 45 meaning that transition between weapons is smooth and easy.
- Recoil is minimal for a weapon shooting a 45ACP round.
- Accessory rail is standard for those who choose to add accessories such as a light.
- Weapon comes with 3 interchangeable grips depending on the size of your hand.
- Many different holstering options are available for this specific handgun.

Thanks for the reblog. I appreciate it.
I know your next two posts are going to be about why you chose the shotgun and rifle; however, I was wondering if you could do a post about why you chose a .45 over the other popular choices such as 9mm and .40?
I will write that one as soon as I finish the shotgun and rifle posts. Thanks for the suggestion 🙂
