There are six things every father should teach their daughter when they are of college age.  Here’s my list of those things.

  1. The proper and safe way to handle, load, unload, clear malfunctions, zero a weapon and shoot firearms including rifles, shotguns and handguns for use at an authorized gun range.
  2. Self defense methods to incapacitate an attacker if they try to harm you.  There are many strike points which will instantly stop an attack even if your attacker is physically larger and stronger than you are.
  3. How to properly manage money.
  4. How to be self reliant, self sufficent and believe in yourself and your abilities.
  5. Paying attention to that inner most feeling that tells you when a course of action is correct and a course of action is not correct.
  6. To make sure your college major is in a field which will make getting a well paying, interesting and rewarding job easier to attain.

You can get a free preview of my first zombie fiction book or my first five post apocalyptic fiction survival books by clicking on the book cover images to the left of this blog post, on my blog page, which will take you to the Amazon.com website. I see, Roger, from the notification emails I get from your blog, that you have been a busy boy. Remember, all work and no play make Roger a dull boy! lol

Good post. I do have one question though – more to play devils advocate. Why college age? Why not sooner? 🙂
