If society should breakdown or collapse, or a man made or natural disaster occurs, it is imperative to be prepared to handle these events as they transpire.  It is impossible to be absolutely prepared for every conceivable disaster and with that said; it is wise to prepare for as many of them as reasonably possible. The unknown can be scary and it can be frightning; but it can also be an opportunity to learn and develop survival skills which will see you through many potential disasters.

You don’t have to spend tons of money to be properly prepared.  Spend what you can reasonable afford on essential survival gear and invest your time and energy into learning and improving your needed survival skills. Have a workable survival plan and make sure that plan is adaptable to changes as situations warrant  Take care of your needs such as shelter, food, water, security, first aid and the other essential components of survival and you will be way ahead of the rest of the pack which didn’t bother to prepare at all.

You can see all 5 of my post apocalyptic fiction books, 2 of my zombie fiction books and 1 of my horror fiction books on the left side of my blog page.  Go ahead and purchase one or more over at They are really quite interesting and entertaining to read if I do say so myself.

Could you imagine a world, not unlike our own, where every American Family was prepared for disaster?

    Yeah, me either….

I think more Americans were prepared for disasters in generations of the past then they are today. Too much reliance on others instead of on one’s self are eroding common sense.

  2. The strength of the wolf is the Pack…and the strength of the Pack is the wolf…we are born to survive!

Americans? Heck no.. all North Americans are in this category. Today I was showing people what gloves to wear at the dog park! If you are not prepared for the dog park, well what are you prepared for, if anything at all?

    Nintendo tournaments
    WII play
    xbox playtime??

TV movie and TV programming marathons, that is what most can do now!

    sad.. very sad
