Seleena, my faithful Alaskan malamute of 13 years crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday.  I know that someday in the future I will see her in heaven again.  The following by an unknown author is dedicated to her.  I love you Seleena and will miss you.  I will remember you with love every day.

    My condolences.
When my yellow lab passed at age 14, it was worse than my father’s funeral. Dog was like a son to me. Obeyed. Beautiful temperament. Never needed a leash to walk him.
The two dogs after him, were insane. “Uncle Nutsy & Protégé”.

My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your Seleena, unless someone is owned by a pet,(let’s face it, they own us rather than the other way around) it’s difficult to understand that bond we share with them. Living in a 2 dog/3 cat household after recently losing our 18 year old calico cat (who was a survivalist if ever I saw one, tiny little thing, she insisted she wanted to be outside as much as she could get away with and had been known to bring me birds, mice, insects, and even a rabbit which oddly enough, she held the rabbit gently as if it were a kitten and never hurt it, just laid it at my feet till it hopped away), I get the way it feels, like losing a family member/best friend.
Yes, we know we will be with again someday, but it still hurts to lose someone who was such a loyal precious part of your life.
I love the Rainbow Bridge thing, it’s beautiful, although I am getting tired of losing my little ones as they go (we get rescue animals only, working in an animal hospital tends to increase our little pack).
Sending you Prayers and healing thoughts….Rest In Peace Seleena, you are in that Good Place now ❤

  3. I’m so very very sorry for you loss. {{{hugs}}} I know what it is to lose a furry baby that you love so very much. I still miss mine that I have lost. I still have 3, but regardless, there is still a hole there where the others once were. At least we have the memories and know that we will see them again one day when we ourselves cross that bridge.

  4. My best friend shared this with me when we lost our family dog. She lived a nice long happy life and passed away surrounded by love at 15. This poem is really great when suffering the loss of your furr friend’s life ❤

  5. Thoughts and prayers with you as you grieve the loss of your loving and steady companion, while celebrating the time you shared and that lives on in your hearts. I love the thought of the Rainbow bridge, and thank you for sharing it. I will hold that thought close to my heart as my old Chesapeake prepares for his eventual journey. They are so special.

  6. Oh no….I’m so sorry to hear this sad news…the poem is beautiful as no doubt was your beautiful K9 companion… but she is not so far away my friend… she resides always in your heart and her spirit bounds always beside you…
Thinking of you and sending you Icewolfie hugs in friendship.
