Emergency Preparedness; Teamwork

As preppers; we live by the simple mantra of being prepared.  Since disasters and emergencies can come in a variety of shapes and sizes it is important to have other members of your immediate family participate in the various facets of disaster preparedness.  It is a good idea to go over the disasters that could most likely affect you and your family and make sure everyone has assigned tasks that they carry out should a disaster scenario occur.  It could be monitoring emergency frequencies, or dispensing food and water rations, or patrolling assigned areas to guard against thugs and looters, etc.,

Everyone should know the tasks they are expected to perform as well as where primary and secondary meeting places will be in case everyone is not in the same location when a disaster scenario occurs.  I won’t dwell too much on bug out bags here; except to say that everyone should have one and the contents should be reviewed and if needed, updated, at least once per month.  Finally make sure you set a good example for others to follow.  During times of crisis people will be looking to you for effective leadership.  Don’t disappoint them.

You can take a look at some of my apocalyptic fiction books on the left side of my blog page by clicking on the book cover images.  If they interest you then I hope you will consider purchasing a copy.
