It seems as though lately; some ridiculous liberal/progressive calls on the government to implement martial law for one scenario or another.  It’s almost as though they want to use it as a way to circumvent individual rights and freedoms as well as circumventing the Constitution.  It’s interesting to note that there is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that grants the President of the United States the power to declare martial law although these days; why should that stop any liberal/progressive President from attempting it.

Martial law is the absolute rule by the military; to be used to replace the civil government.  Martial law is generally imposed upon defeated military regimes during wartime; not against law abiding American citizen’s by their own government. If martial law is ever declared you can expect suspension of all of your rights, weapons confiscation, free speech elimination and a host of other unpleasant occurrances.  Law abiding citizens would in turn be treated as outlaws and subject to search, seizure, imprisonment, etc.

Give this matter some thought; as the military and the police should refuse to comply with any orders to impose martial law upon law abiding American citizens under the pretext of a crisis.  If the powers in Washington D.C. want martial law then let them go out and try and enforce it themselves.  Remember the President and other members of the government are not above the Constitution; and even take oaths swearing to defend the Constitution as part of their appointment to office.  America must never become a nation that is headed down the brutal path of tyrannical rule as other nations in other parts of the world have already experienced at the hands of their own regimes.

When societal breakdowns occur; it is important to avoid the following people if you want to survive. Such survival situations include martial law,  tyrannical oppression, civil unrest, rioting, looting…………….well you get the idea.  So without further delay here are the people you need to avoid.

  • Anyone who says don’t bother being prepared and self reliant; the governement will take care of you no matter what happens.
  • Anyone with an entitlement mentality who thinks your stuff should be there stuff.
  • Anyone with a why should I work for what I want attitude when I can get welfare or other lifetime benefits for sitting back and doing nothing.
  • Anyone who says that there is nothing wrong with shredding the Constitution.
  • Anyone who supports disarming law abiding citizen’s.
  • Anyone who thinks martial law should be the law of the land.
  • Anyone who thinks being a violent criminal is okay and believes if I want something I’ll just take it by force.
  • Anyone without morals, values, honor, courage and dignity.

Avoid these types of people at all costs.  They are vultures who will think nothing of betraying you for the slightest reward or handout.

Martial law can be defined as the military taking control of a city, state or country and running it at their discretion.  The military would impose control on a civilian population when law and order cannot be maintained by the civil authorities.  Martial law scenarios would likely involve a restriction, erosion or suspension of your Constitutional rights by government decree.

In order to survive martial law the following things should be considered.  You will need to prepare beforehand by becoming as self reliant as possible; avoid traveling to any and all areas under martial law; do not draw attention to yourself or your family during times of martial law; stay informed and never accept the governments word at face value.  Remember your survival trumps obeying dictates.

A constant, armed military presence  and routine patrols by the military will be part of martial law along with curfews and vehicle checkpoints.  There will be people who masquerade as law enforcement to lure people into traps and attack them.  Do not fall for this.  You need to be extremely careful who you follow and whom you trust.

Survival and preparedness are important concepts to master.  The following are some often overlooked survival tips which should be considered.

  • Get in the habit of carrying essentail every day carry gear on you.  It may be all you have if you are away from home and a disaster strikes.  Some considerations to keep with you are your handgun, spare ammo, car keys, folding knife, flashlight and identification.
  • Always stay properly hydrated.
  • Eye protection is a must either by using prescription or non prescription glasses.  If your vision is damaged and you can’t see your chances of survival are greatly diminished.
  • Communications are essential.  Keep in mind that a text takes up less bandwidth then a cell phone call; so if a cell phone call won’t go through due to an overload of the system during a disaster, a text still might.
  • Considerations for emergency shelter should factor in abandoned houses, garages and factories.  There are lots of abandoned buildings which could be used as emergency shelter if needed.  Stay concealad and watch your intended shelter location carefully to ensure it’s abandoned before approaching.
  • Some suburban needs may be different than urban needs when it comes to survival and preparedness and vice versa.
  • Avoid checkpoints as any gear you have may be confiscated.
  • Maintain a positive, confident attitude.  Fear and self doubt will reduce your chances of survival.

If an emergency or disaster strikes are you prepared?  This is a question you need to ask yourself honestly when it comes to survival and preparedness.  If you have the skills, the gear, the knowledge and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances your chances for survival increase dramatically.

Hurricanes, Tornados, Power Outages, Floods, Civil Unrest, Societal Breakdown, etc., are all things which could happen to anyone, anywhere.  Therefore it is imperative to be prepared with adequate emergency shelter, food, water, first aid items, self defense strategies and the right attitude and mindset which allows you to persevere, overcome and survive.

Bad times can often bring out the worst in people so having the ability to properly defend yourself and weather out any potential disaster scenarios takes on vital importance.  Review your survival plans frequently and make changes as needed.  Study and implement the best methods to prepare for disasters and above all do what is necessary to stay safe.

There you have it; that’s all it takes, refuse to be a victim.  Whether in your personal or professional life all you need to do is have the mindset that you will not be a victim.  Once that mindset is developed, everything else becomes easy.  People with a victims mentality attract predators and manipulators, people with a survival and confident mentality keep predators and manipulators at bay.

Once you have decided to not be a victim, then doors of opportunity open.  Your confidence increases, your interests broaden and you will develop a clarity of purpose.  Keep moving forward, train vigilantly in self defense techniques and in the proper use of firearms and practice, practice, then practice some more.

Remember each person is individually responsible for their own safety and security.  Don’t delegate that responsibility to someone else.  Make sure you have the skill and the will to defend yourself properly if and when the situation arises. Criminals look for easy targets of opportunity so make yourself a hard target.  Refuse to be a victim!

When it comes to preparing for whatever disasters you anticipate might head your way; everyone needs to have a good survival plan.  The following is my plan.

  • Assess the threat and respond accordingly.
  • Maintain and review inventory of prepped supplies and keep sufficient quantities on hand.
  • Keep small amounts of bills and coins set aside, as funds through ATM’s, etc., may not be available if the power is out.
  • Food and water are top priorities so make sure there is plenty available.  A 3 months supply per person including for your pets is a good goal to strive for.
  • Guns and sufficient ammo are essential for self defense as well as having proper training in their defensive applications.
  • Proper clothing and available medicines should be ready and waiting.
  • Your reliable vehicles should all have full gas tanks and there should be a sufficient quantity of spare 5 gallon gas cans filled and ready for use.
  • Make sure there is sufficient wood and duraflame logs for the fireplace or woodstove.
  • Make sure there is sufficient charcoal available for the grill.
  • Keep communications gear fully charged and ready to go.
  • Have a sufficient supply of plywood and screws in case anything needs to be boarded up.
  • Stay positive and be prepared to adapt as needed.
  • Do not overlook personal security.
  • Have a working generator available with appropriate power cords and fuel.
  • Remember accurate information is critical.

During times of disaster people will become desperate and will resort to acts of violence and desperation.  An outlaw mentality will develop as some people begin to feel that society is to blame and that they are entitled to things which they are not entitled to.

If commerce becomes disrupted you must rely on your own logistics.  Your goal is to survive a disaster in a better position than those who have not taken the time or effort to prepare themselves.  Make sure you know your limitations.  You must know what you are capable of and under what conditions you are capable of performing these tasks in.

Mark the dates for Gridex II which are November 13, 14, 2013.  This is when the cyberattack, physical attack simulation drills are supposed to occur representing an electrical grid shutdown of the United States, Mexico and Canada. Thousands of utility workers, FBI agents, anti-terrorism experts, government agencies, and 150 private businesses will be participating in the drills.  It is considered crisis management practice in case the grid ever goes down for real and will focus on the governments reaction to dealing with no power, supply chain collapses, stoppage of food and fuel distribution, communications blackouts, etc.  Mark your calenders just in case the power in your area goes down as part of the drill.
