If Martial Law is ever declared there are some important elements you need to consider to assist with your survival plans.  Martial Law scenarios involve suspension of Constitutional rights, firearms confiscation, forced relocation, rationing of goods, curfews, summary arrests, etc.  The following may help you survive this nightmarish ordeal.

  • Never take the governments word about anything unless it is a threat against you.
  • Keep quiet about anything which could cause you trouble.
  • Your survival is much more important than obeying any dictates.
  • Avoid any areas where civilians are being rounded up, detained, or arrested.
  • Keep a low profile.
  • Maintain a high level of situational awareness.
  • Be very wary and cautious of whom you trust.
  • Establish reliable communications chains to determine which news is truthful and relevant, and which is untruthful and irrelevant.
  • Your family’s safety and security comes first always.

In order to survive; one has to be prepared.  You must prepare as much as possible for things which could happen and have an adaptable plan for dealing with these scenarios when they occur.  Keep a watchful eye on those in power with the realization that they don’t always have your best interests in mind.  Protecting your family and yourself, if martial law occurs, or when social chaos is present is of the utmost importance.

Shelter, food, water, and security are the four main areas that you need to be aware of in the event of a local, regional or national crisis.  Make sure you have sufficient supplies on hand in case leaving your home is unsafe, or restricted based on specific circumstances.

Do you have enough food and water if transportation and distribution networks are suspended?  Can you defend yourself, your family and your home if looters and marauders are on the loose looking for supplies and victims?  Criminals are always the first to try and take advantage of any situation where law and order has broken down.  Prepare yourself accordingly and stay safe.  In any disaster scenario there usually are no second chances when it comes to your survival and the survival of your family members.  Prepare now; before it is too late.

Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed to the fullest.  You should live the way you want, work at something you enjoy doing, reside where you want and get as much satisfaction from life as possible.  Along with that however, it is also prudent to be prepared for situations in life where things are contra to your best interests.  Disasters such as social unrest, war, famine, societal collapse, escalations in violent crime, etc., are just some of the things that in this day and age are of concern to many.  So, along with enjoying the good times, it is also important to prepare for the bad times.

The following are the things I consider important for preparing for your own survival.

  • There is no such thing as having too much canned food or water set aside.  If disaster strikes, grocery stores may not be available to supplement your needs.  You must maintain a minimum of 3 months worth of food and water per person.  Don’t forget to set the same amount aside for each of your pets.
  • Yes, yes, yes you must have a sufficient amount of guns and ammunition and be well versed in their use.  You may have sufficient quantities of emergency supplies, but if others try and forcibly take them, you must be able to hold onto what you have.
  • People can and will panic during disasters so avoid large crowds and any areas subject to martial law and or rioting.
  • Use common sense and good judgement when deciding whom to trust.
  • Always keep  small amounts of cash on hand.  A disaster may render ATM’s and credit card systems useless.  If so, cash or barter may be the only ways to immediately conduct business.
  • Take responsibility for your own survival.  Ability without character is useless.  Remain moral and ethical during times of crisis.
