“A Country Founded by Geniuses and Run by Idiots

If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If you have to get your parents’ permission to go on a field trip or take an aspirin in school, but not to get an abortion … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If you have to show identification to board an airplane, cash a check, buy liquor, or check out a library book, but not to vote for who runs your government … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If your government wants to ban stable, law-abiding citizens from owning gun magazines with more than ten rounds, but gives 20 F-16 fighter jets to the crazy new leaders in Egypt … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If, in the largest city, you can buy two 16-ounce sodas, but not a 24-ounce soda because 24-ounces of a sugary drink might make you fat … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If an 80-year-old woman can be strip-searched by the TSA but a woman in a hijab is only subject to having her neck and head searched … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If a seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher “is cute,” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If children are forcibly removed from parents who discipline them with spankings while children of addicts are left in filth and drug infested “homes”… you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government intrusion, while not working is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized housing, and free cell phones … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If your government’s plan for getting people back to work is to incentivize NOT working with 99 weeks of Unemployment checks and no requirement to prove they applied but can’t find work … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.

If you pay your mortgage faithfully, denying yourself the newest big screen TV while your neighbor buys iPhones, TVs and new cars, and your government forgives his debt when he defaults on his mortgage … you might live in a country founded by geniuses and run by idiots.”

Another reader asked me to re-address the subject of freedom and government so here you go.  There are many important things to know about freedom and government.  Below are some of what I consider to be the most important ones.

  • Your elected representatives could care less about your opinions and interests unless of course you are a major financial donor.
  • Governments will use fear as a weapon and by doing so, create real or imagined threats that they will claim only the government can solve.
  • Never waive or give up your rights under any circumstances.
  • Strangers are just that, strangers, so do not engage in talking to them about anything private or sensative.
  • Never make an assumption that an expert is really an expert.
  • If you have fundamental differences with certain people it is a waste of time to argue issues, politics or philosophies with them.
  • Avoid the victim mentality.  Take responsibility for your decisions.
  • Consider nothing as true until you have verified it.
  • Freedom means never having to beg the government for your fundamental rights.
  • It is okay not to respect a political office if you don’t respect the person in that office.
  • Draw your line in the sand so that you know what you will and what you won’t tolerate.

America is still the greatest nation on planet Earth.  We seem as a nation, however, to be losing our way.  In light of that here are my solutions to making America great again.  Implement these changes and our country will improve immediately.

  1. Laws need to be fair, simplified and easy to understand.
  2. Laws must be Constitutional.
  3. People need to work for a living and stop receiving “lifetime” government handouts.
  4. Government is too large and needs to be significantly reduced in size.
  5. Government and business corruption needs to be severely punished.
  6. Government needs to stop sticking their noses into every facet of people’s lives and stop trying to regulate everything.
  7. Proper morals and values need to be taught.  There is a right and there is a wrong even if the mainstream media doesn’t think so.
  8. People need to take personal responsibility for their actions.
  9. Criminals need to receive harsher punishments and should serve out their full sentences without the possibility of early release.
  10. Criminals convicted of rape, murder, carjacking, etc., should automatically receive life sentences with no chance of parole or the death penalty.
  11. No restrictions or laws should ever be placed on law abiding citizen’s when it comes to owning guns.
  12. The right to protect your home and family from thugs and criminals should always be the law of  the land free from malicious prosecution.
  13. Laws should protect law abiding citizens, not thugs and criminals.
  14. Border security must be strengthened and illegal aliens must be deported.
  15. Flat tax should be implemented.  Everyone pays the same low percentage regardless of income level.

Why do I love America.  For me, even though lately the country is increasingly moving in the wrong direction…..too many socialistic, communistic policies have been and are being enacted; I still love my country because I know it is cyclical and as more people realize what’s going on we will move back to basic core American values of freedom and self reliance.  So here’s my list of why I love America.

  • I can achieve my American dream…..I am free to work where I want and educate myself where I want and live where I want.
  • I can still legally own my firearms and train with them at public ranges.
  • I can still earn a great living the way I want.
  • I can vote the way I feel is right and effect change from within.
  • I can still be self reliant.
  • I can refuse to be a victim, refuse to give money to those who are capable but too lazy to want to work and I can take pride that I have followed my dreams and created a successful life.
  • I can still drive my gas guzzling, V8 engine, oversized SUV and enjoy every minute of it.
  • I can say what I want to say when I want to say it.
  • I can support policies I want to support and rail against policies I don’t agree with.

America is still a great country and we will rise again and move away from the socialistic, communistic policies that are being thrown our way at every turn.  Small government, free markets, low taxes, following the constitution and self reliance are the key principles which will get us there.  Success is earned not given.  Freedom is never free and must be fought for in order to stay free.
